The Brent Lea housing estate has undergone a remarkable transformation thanks to the dedication and collaborative work of the Client team and George Jones.
Initiated in May, the Brent Lea project is part of a broader initiative to improve the council’s housing stock and rejuvenate the area for the local community. The estate required extensive work: the blocks needed fresh paint, staircases were in disrepair, and the bin stores and dustbin chutes were in dire need of a thorough scrubbing before any painting could be done.
Collaboration was key here to ensure successful delivery of all aspects of the work.
Key Improvements
- External Cladding Repairs and New Installations: The front of the blocks now boasts new cladding, set to be completed by the end of September.
- Brickwork and Painting: Extensive brickwork repairs have been carried out, and all railings and garages have been painted white for a consistent, fresh look.
- Play Area and Garages: The play area railings have been given a new lease of life, and the garages, which have flats above them, have been repainted to enhance the overall aesthetic of the estate.
- Bollard Installation: New bollards have been installed to improve the estate’s appearance and to prevent unauthorised vehicle access.
- The Service Manager for the project had this to say, “The restoration of Brent Lea is testament to what we can achieve when we work together. The collective effort of our team, the contractor (George Jones), and the community has resulted in a transformation that everyone can be proud of.”
The difference is striking when you compare the before and after photos of Brent Lea. What was once a tired and neglected estate now stands as a refreshed area for the local community.
